With many natural attractions and resources, such as Great slave lake, the second largest lake fully within Canada and deepest in North America there are many outdoor activities within minutes reach such as swimming, fishing, boating, skiing, biking, hiking, camping and northern lights viewing.

PBN is currently looking to hire an Experienced Operations Manager to work in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories to help improve overall company operations of a diverse business that specializes in metals manufacturing/construction and sales, mechanical and mining services. Northern Experience and working in Northern Winter Environments is a requirement.

The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude with a strong work ethic, be able to take charge and lead the company strategically, is hardworking and be willing to work as many hours as it takes, gets along well with others and is willing to be flexible with last minute or emergency client requests by meeting tight deadlines with the overall team.

Subsidized Staff Accommodation is available with an opportunity for health and other benefits after 3 months probation. A relocation reimbursement benefit is also available upon a 3-month satisfactory review. Salary is competitive and dependent upon experience, certifications, and willingness to move to Yellowknife, NT.

General Purpose

Operations Manager will direct and coordinate the operations of the organization and is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

· Coordination and Supervision - Coordinate, manage and monitor the Manufacturing Facility, Construction Projects, and Administration to ensure timelines are met and coordinated for.

· Communication – Be available for staff at the start and end of shifts and encourage communication to ensure quality and efficient project management from start to finish. Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as IT, HR, Accounts and Finance. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.

· Budgeting – Budget and control operational estimates and planning. Control inventory. Plan effective strategies for the financial well being of the company.

· Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.

· Human Resources - Plan the use of human resources. Organize recruitment and placement of required staff. Establish organizational structures. Delegate tasks and accountabilities. Establish work schedules. Supervise staff. Monitor and evaluate performance.

· Production - Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, warehousing, pricing and distribution of goods. Monitor performance and implement improvements. Ensure quality of products. Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity. Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery. Provide technical support where necessary.

· Sales, Marketing and Customer Service - Manage customer support. Plan and support sales and marketing activities.

· Strategic Input - Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans.

Education and Experience

· Degree in industrial technology, industrial engineering, structural engineering or a trades certificate with over ten years experience in a Metal Manufacturing business.

· Industry relevant production experience in the construction industry

· Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management

· Knowledge of business and management principles and practices

· Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices

· Knowledge of human resource principles and practices

· Knowledge of project management principles and practices

· Information technology skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
