Male Youth Care Leader

Southeast Collegiate is the only school of its kind in all of Canada. It serves as a campus for First Nations students during the school year – educating students in a beautiful school facility and providing housing in the adjoining lodge.
We are currently accepting applications for our Male Youth Care Leader team for the below-mentioned shift. Our Youth Care Leaders (YCLs) are responsible for the safety and well-being of our students. YCLs play a critical role in supporting our students while they are away from their home communities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to constant monitoring of students' whereabouts, communicating with other staff members, speaking with parents and visitors, and administering shift-specific duties, including cleaning, organizing, administration or others as assigned. It is also of the utmost importance to build healthy relationships with our students and consistently focus on and work towards achieving Southeast Collegiate's mission and vision.
Male Positions Available
1 PT shifts available:
- Saturday - Tuesday 11:00 pm - 7:00 am & Monday (part-time / 32 hours per week)
*This position is laid off for the summer months after June 19, 2026. SEC will recall Lodge staff at the end of August 2026 for the school year.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- At least one (1) year experience working with youth (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under stress
- Basic computer skills (MS Word/Excel)
- Experience working with First Nations Youth (High School)
- The ability to speak a First Nation language (Ojibwe, Cree, Oji-Cree) is an asset
- Willing to be certified in First Aid/ CPR
- Willing to obtain Criminal Check and Child Abuse Registry
