What You'll Be Doing
As a Bilingual Electrical & Mechanical Support Specialist, you'll serve as a trusted expert providing technical assistance to customers, dealers, and internal teams across North America. Drawing on your strong electrical troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and customer support experience, you'll help ensure that Hörmann's access solutions perform to the highest standards. This is a desk-based technical support role that can be performed remotely or from our office, depending on your preference. You'll primarily provide support via phone and email. While there may be occasional travel for special projects such as training, or trade shows, this is not a field service position.
Your Key Responsibilities
Provide bilingual technical support (French and English) via phone, email to customers, dealers, and internal teams.
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues related to control systems, including PLCs, relay logic, and inverters.
Support field operations remotely for repairs, or maintenance.
Assist with warranty claim processing, technical documentation, and troubleshooting records.
Collaborate with Engineering and R&D teams on product testing, prototyping, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide technical support for trade shows, marketing initiatives, and showroom/display setup as needed.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including manuals, installation guides, and training materials.
Promote and adhere to all health and safety policies, fostering a culture of safety in every task.
What You Bring To The Role
Languages: Full professional fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
Education: Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical background.
Experience: Practical experience in field service, technical support, or customer service.
Skills And Knowledge
Strong understanding of electrical systems, control panels, PLCs, and relay logic.
Mechanical aptitude for installation and troubleshooting.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn technical software quickly.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a remote environment.
