Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (35 hours/week)

About the Position:
The Job Developer is responsible for establishing long-term relationships with local employers to support their recruitment needs, as well as creating work experience opportunities that leads to sustainable employment for clients. This position works collaboratively with the Richmond WorkBC Team in supporting a diverse client group towards successful job sustainment outcomes.
Reports to: Centre Manager
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engages with local employers, associations, and business sectors via cold calling, e-introduction, and attending community events to support their staff recruitment needs
- Outreaches to employers for hiring event/job fair participation
- Supports clients and employers in completing wage subsidy applications
- Works collaboratively with Employment Counsellors and Facilitators to understanding client's needs and occupational goals
- Implements strategies to secure employment for clients
- Secures placement opportunities for clients by conducting one-on-one job development meetings, updating Employment Plans with clients, referring resumes to employers, and following-up to ensure successful placement
- Solicits feedback from employers and communicates job leads to clients
- Creates and identifies work experience services that lead to sustainable employment for clients, including persons with disabilities and barriers
- Provides workplace job coaching with clients as needed
- Manages the client tracking system
- Organizes client files and tracks their progress
- Motivates clients to ensure action plans are completed
- Creates database of employers' contact details, tracks day-to-day activities, and updates Employment Counsellors on client activities
- Documents clients' progress in achieving the goals as outlined in their Employment Plan
- Participates in community events to promote Richmond WorkBC Centre
- Participates and supports webinars hosted by WorkBC
- Compiles program statistics and monthly reports for program evaluation
- Performs other program related duties as assigned by the Centre Manager
Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Social Services and/or Employment or a combination of equivalent experience
- CCDP designation is an asset
- Experience in building partnerships with community agencies, employers, and other stakeholders
- Experience in coaching and mentoring clients
- Experience in case management
- Experience in WorkBC programs is an asset
- Experience in Integrated Case Management (ICM) systems is an asset
- Knowing of the Employment Insurance Act and BC Employment and Assistance Program
- Knowledge of local community employment resources
Job Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Additional languages are considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent technical skills in MS Office and web-based applications
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent record management skills
- Excellent client and customer service skills
- Excellent individual and group presentation skills
- Ability to support facilitation activities
- Ability to engage and motivate clients to achieve milestones
- Ability to work with private and confidential information

- Ability to work at multiple locations within the service catchment area
