We are a trusted, locally owned property maintenance and improvement company serving the Greater Toronto Area. We specialize in high-quality residential services, including seasonal maintenance (snow clearing, grass cutting) and year-round repair and renovation projects. We are seeking a highly skilled, reliable, and experienced Handyman to join our growing team.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate is a multi-skilled technician capable of managing diverse residential repair and renovation tasks independently. This role requires exceptional troubleshooting abilities, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. This is not an entry-level position; we require proven experience across various trades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute a wide range of repairs, maintenance, and small renovation projects in residential homes.
  • Diagnose and resolve common household maintenance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of time, materials used, and work performed.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding project status and scope.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards.

Essential Skills and Services Required (Must be Proficient In)

1. Advanced Carpentry & Finishing:

  • Cutting, fitting, and installing complex trim, crown moulding, and baseboards.
  • Installing interior doors (pre-hung and slab) and door hardware.
  • Repairing and replacing deck boards, railings, and fence sections.
  • Expertly mounting cabinetry, shelving, and large fixtures.

2. Drywall & Painting:

  • Advanced drywall patching, mudding, taping, and texture matching (popcorn, knockdown).
  • High-quality interior and exterior painting preparation and application.

3. Basic Electrical:

  • Replacing and installing fixtures (lights, ceiling fans) and devices (outlets, switches, dimmers).
  • Installing and troubleshooting smart home devices (thermostats, doorbells).

4. Basic Plumbing:

  • Repairing/replacing faucets, toilets, and addressing minor leaks.
  • Installing vanities and sinks.

5. Flooring & Tile:

  • Installation of laminate, engineered hardwood, or LVP/LVT flooring.
  • Setting and grouting tile for backsplashes and small floor areas.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a Handyman or Technician in residential settings.
  • Tools: Must possess a reliable set of professional-grade tools for all listed tasks.
  • Transportation: Valid G-Class driver's license and reliable truck/van required to transport tools and materials.
  • Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, friendly demeanor.
  • Work Ethic: Highly organized, reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently and managing time effectively.
  • Language: Must be fluent in English (written and verbal).

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate starting at $36.00 based on experience and skillset.
  • Benefits: km reimbursement, and benefits are given after a 12 month period.
  • Growth: Opportunity to manage and lead larger projects over time.
