Summary
Durham Medical is seeking to hire two enthusiastic professionals with a minimum of two to three years of sales experience with medical equipment is preferred. Each candidate can be at different stages in their career but possess relevant education in Kinesiology, and or/experience as an OTA or PTA. Strong ties and experience with the medical referral community would be a tremendous asset.
Job purpose
The Rehab Sales Representative promotes, sells and secures orders from existing and prospective clients through a relationship-based approach. The Rehab Sales Representative achieves maximum sales profitability and growth by personally contacting and securing new business accounts as well as demonstrating products and services selected to best suit client needs.
Duties and responsibilities
General:
- Represent Durham Medical in a professional and courteous manner.
- Exercise professionalism in communication, work attendance habits, and attire.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies as appropriate.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and training as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Durham Medical processes
Sales:
- Build, establish, develop and maintain strong business relationships with current and prospective clients
- Make telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective clients
- Identify decision makers amongst the targeted leads in order to start sales process.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and the team to determine essential strategic approaches for sales and to be successful in meeting clients needs.
- Attend sales group meetings concerning sales targets or forecasts t
- Coordinate with customer service for status on orders ensuring the delivery commitment to clients is met.
- Collate and consolidate reports on monthly sales performance
- Provide effective product demos for end-user clients
- Emphasize service or product features and benefits, discuss credit terms, quote prices, and prepare sales order reports or forms.
- Exceed or meet personal sales targets while demonstrating a solid customer focus.
- Initiate and leverage sales opportunities with existing and prospective clients while developing and maintaining key clients.
- Develop strong product knowledge as well as customer knowledge.
- Provide feedback from clients in order to assess possible improvements to existing products and also the need for new products.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; and making recommendations to management.

- Relevant training in sales.
- Valid drivers license with no violations and a clean abstract

Working conditions
Works primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Work involves sitting, standing, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Occasionally works in an enclosed vehicle outdoors, exposed to difficult driving conditions such as bad weather or heavy traffic.
Physical requirements
Required to sit for extended periods of time in an office environment where there is little fluctuation in temperature. Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Vision requirements include close, distance, color and peripheral. Occasionally performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
