Location: On site, Calgary (229 – 33rd Street NE, Calgary, Alberta);

Type of employment:  Maternity leave replacement (Minumum 14 months), Full Time (40 hours)

THE ROLE

The Director of Marketing, Canada supports the development, execution, and evaluation of marketing campaigns and related activities to help drive traffic, increase sales and build brand awareness of Circle K and Couche-Tard across Canada. The successful candidate will have experience leading high performing teams to achieve business goals while managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment across functions. A love for retail and the guest experience, thinking about how you could design campaigns, products and services that make their lives better is important.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Supports and develops innovative traffic-driving marketing campaigns throughout the program life cycle – concept, execution, post-mortem
  • Develops and coordinates standard reporting/analytics deliverables for campaign initiatives; Prepares materials, documents and data related to various marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Pro-actively engages internal and external stakeholders to assist in the planning, preparation and execution of marketing campaigns and related activities
  • Collaborates closely with global teams and local/regional support departments including Marketing & Merchandising teams, Loyalty/Digital/Personalization teams, Category Management teams, Global Analytics, Procurement, etc.
  • Works with BUs to coordinate all activities and ensure effective implementation with high success rates
  • Shares research and insights with local BU teams; gathers feedback and input from BUs on needs, trends and localized consumer insights, where applicable
  • Oversees external customer communications including Canada email and SMS strategy and North American organic social media strategy
  • Flexible with working hours to support global ways of working

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA an asset, or equivalent experience).

Experience:

  • +10 years of experience in marketing, business development, or campaign management.

Knowledge and skills:

  •  Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience supervising multiple direct reports, with strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and comfortable working with BI tools.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, adaptable, and collaborative, a true team player.

Language skills:

  • Bilingualism an asset (Advanced French and English) both spoken and written, as the person will be required to work and communicate regularly in English while performing the tasks outlined above. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.
