As part of the National Service Center (NSC) Clinical Quality, Health Information & Privacy Portfolio (CQ-HIP), the Digital Clinical Practice Leader, is responsible for advancing the effective use and adoption of digital health information systems in clinical practice. The Digital CPL is accountable to provide subject matter expertise and leadership in digital health, clinical practice, consultation, training and education to support Clinical Managers, Health Care Professionals, and Paraprofessionals across all Bayshore Business divisions. The CPL will work closely with the branch/location clinical digital change team to ensure the clinical requirements and business rules are integrated into workflow and are compliant with Bayshore's clinical policies and procedures and change management best practices. This role will provide digital health expertise and leadership to improve the health care provider experience, patient/client experience, service delivery and clinical health information at the individual and management level through digitally enabled clinical systems and tools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization.
- Works closely with members of the CQ-HIP team and the business divisions clinical team to support the development of digitally enabled tools/systems and incorporate evidence based clinical guidelines and decisions supports.
- Leads the development of clinical requirements and business rules to advance high quality evidence based clinical practices; clinical satisfaction; optimizing patient/client care, outcomes and data-driven decision making.
- Working with the Branch/location Clinical Lead/Manager & identified clinical champions/SME's, facilitates a learning environment and uses a train the trainer approach to engage nurses, allied health and paraprofessionals in the design/development & optimization of clinical documentation and evidence-based decision support tools to support interprofessional clinical practices and integration into workflow:
- Communicate clinical relevance for system design and reporting requirements for information at point of care and management level
- Incorporates user centered design processes
- Ensure end users' needs are met
- Working with the Clinical Lead/Manager, designs, develops and facilitates digital health training and education to advance digital health competencies for nurses, allied health, paraprofessionals and clinical management.
- Keeps current on Provincial Regulatory body's Standards of Practice, and liaise with Provincial regulating bodies, as required.
- Working with the business/technical and project team, assists in the development of clinical use case scenarios to conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Works collaboratively with the Clinical Lead/Manager to evaluate the effective clinical use and adoption of digital health systems and tools into practice.
- Identifies opportunities for improving the end user experience.
- Participates and contributes to project planning activities and works with project team in the design and implementation of changes to clinical/business processes and workflows.
- Ensures individual, technical & organizational readiness and escalates to appropriate decision maker.
- Acts as a liaison between the cross functional business leads, IT, and CQ-HIP.
- Champions change and motivates/influences others by building awareness, communicating and engaging with clinicians and their leaders.
- Supports the advancement of virtual health care practices.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and promote clinical digital policies, procedures and protocols based on evidence-based practices and best practice guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to emerging digital clinical health and artificial intelligence.
- Travel to Bayshore branches / location across Canada to provide education and digital health implementation support to Clinical Managers, Educators, Regulated Healthcare Professionals and Paraprofessionals as needed.
- All other duties as required.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing and Clinical Officer, the Digital Clinical Practice Leader reports to the Director of Clinical Practice and Programs.
Work Location : Bayshore Healthcare, National Office, Mississauga ON

Qualifications:
Education
A master's degree in nursing or another health-related profession is preferred. Certification and expertise in Digital Clinical Health. Current registration with the regulatory college within the province of residence is required.
Experience
- Five to ten years of Clinical Practice and Digital Health work related experience.
- Advanced digital health knowledge and experience regarding the principles, practices, and methods of using digital systems and tools in clinical practice including experience in engaging and teaching others utilizing change management and adult learning principles.
- Sound knowledge and experience in project management methodology. Sound knowledge and experience in ensuring the privacy and security of health information.
Required Skills and Abilities
Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, ability to meet deadlines, demonstrated track record of high productivity, confidence, and sound judgment in working with a variety of professional and paraprofessional staff. Exceptional clinical skills, ability to work collaboratively, assume leadership responsibilities, and communicate effectively. Demonstrates basic clinical analysis and informatics competencies (e.g., device application and information communication technology basic skills).
The CPL will maintain a home office, however some travel to branch locations throughout Canada is required for the position. The ability to speak French is an asset.
