Responsibilities

  • Operate snow plow trucks and related machinery to remove snow and ice from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other designated areas
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plowing equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Apply salt or de-icing materials as needed to prevent ice formation and improve traction
  • Monitor weather conditions to anticipate snow removal needs and respond promptly during storms
  • Coordinate with team members to prioritize routes and ensure efficient snow removal operations
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used during each shift
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries during snow removal activities

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating snow plow trucks or similar heavy machinery such as excavators or mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of landscape maintenance, horticulture, irrigation, gardening, or construction is a plus but not required
  • Mechanical knowledge related to hand tools, power tools, and equipment maintenance is advantageous
  • Ability to work in cold weather conditions for extended periods during winter storms
  • Strong attention to safety protocols and ability to recognize potential hazards in outdoor environments
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, shoveling, or clearing debris as needed
