Position

HSES Integrated Management System (IMS) Specialist

Introduction

Reporting directly to the Director, Sustainability, and occasionally receiving direction from other managers and supervisors across the Company, this role is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of a fully integrated Health, Safety, Environment, and Social (HSES) Management System across our operations. This is a unique opportunity to lead a multi-year transformation initiative that aligns with global best practices (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO and advances the Company's goals related to operational excellence, sustainability, and risk management.

Location

This is a full-time position based at B2Gold Corporate Office in Vancouver, Canada with a flexible work arrangement option available.

Duties & Responsibilities

Integrated Management System (IMS) Development and Governance

  • Lead the design and implementation of a fully integrated HSES Management System across all sites;
  • Provide input into the development and refinement of HSES Policies, Standards, Directives, and Objectives;
  • Establish a governance framework and strategic roadmap for system integration, including timelines and resource planning;
  • Conduct gap analyses, benchmarking, and stakeholder engagement to inform system design and priorities; and,
  • Support alignment of the IMS with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).

Site Support and Capacity Building

  • Mentor and advise site HSES teams to ensure consistent implementation of management system elements;
  • Provide training and guidance on the use of management system tools, including software platforms and document control systems; and,
  • Support competency-based training programs across sites to strengthen health, safety, and environmental leadership.

Monitoring, Performance, and Assurance

  • Lead the design and implementation of a management system software and ensure it is utilized effectively at B2Gold operating sites;
  • Oversee the audit and assurance program for HSES management system, standards, and procedures;
  • Monitor and report on the status of IMS implementation, compliance, and performance metrics;
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to site and corporate management; and,
  • Ensure proper follow-up on audit findings, inspections, and incident investigations.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement through structured feedback loops, campaigns, and site-level engagement;
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies, standards, and industry best practices related to HSES management; and,
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to systems, tools, and procedures based on evolving needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field;
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in HSES roles, with a strong background in management systems development;
  • Proven experience with ISO standards (14001, 45001, and/or 9001), TSM, ICMM and system integration across complex operations;
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multi-site, multi-year initiatives;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience leading stakeholder engagement and cross-functional teams;
  • Experience in mining, natural resources extraction, or similarly regulated industries is an asset.
  • Certification in auditing or management systems (e.g., ISO Lead Auditor) is an asset.
  • Strategic thinker with a systems-oriented mindset.
  • Collaborative leadership and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to drive cultural change and organizational alignment.
  • Data-driven and outcome-oriented.
  • Comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity.

B2Gold offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary commensurate with the candidate's experience, knowledge and skill set, and a comprehensive benefit package for employees and their eligible dependents. The base salary range for this position is CAD $95,000-120,000 per annum,

which is the anticipated pay at the time of hire but does not reflect similar future job opportunities. Details of the total compensation package will be shared during the interview process.
