Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Stamping Department Lead Hand to join our team. The stamping department lead hand will be responsible for the die changes, set-ups and start-ups. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical stamping press machines, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to workplace safety. Knowledge of progressive & transfer dies an asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform die, set-ups and start-ups of dies and stamping presses and secondary machinery.
  • Organize and schedule production of stamping and welding products.
  • Responsible for maintaining high quality level of parts and minimizing scrap levels.
  • Responsible for production troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for the testing of new materials and products.
  • Receive raw materials.
  • Maintain inventory levels for production and collaborate with purchasing.
  • Maintain production quality standards and ensure compliance with QMS standards.
  • Enter labour tickets on computer system and document any process changes.
  • Operate forklift, change coils and totes.
  • Train new employees.
  • Provide assistance to plant manager and other supervisors as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years experience as a setup technician or similar role in an industrial setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong English communication skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, stand, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Forklift certification.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$33.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 42.5 per week
