Join our family
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Production Lead Hand to support daily operations within our production facility. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing a designated area or team, ensuring production targets are met, product quality is maintained, and safety protocols are followed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction and support to production team members to ensure smooth, efficient, and accurate workflow.
- Oversee line setup, start-up procedures, and product changeovers to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Monitor product quality and production standards throughout the shift, collaborating with QA and other departments when needed.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure equipment is operating effectively and escalate any mechanical issues to maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and line adjustments using tools such as Redzone or other tracking systems.
- Support training and onboarding of new team members and provide on-the-job coaching to drive performance and consistency.
- Enforce and promote workplace safety, hygiene, and food safety practices at all times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to support smooth operational flow and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with staffing coordination, break schedules, and shift handovers to maintain continuous production flow.
Experience
- Experience working in a food production or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and team coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with production tracking systems is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and operational standards.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced production environment; standing, walking, and lifting required for extended periods.
- Exposure to cold, wet, and noisy conditions depending on department.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided and required at all times.
