Lead Hand

**Position Mission/Purpose**:
As a key member of the MacMillan Supply Chain Group team, the Lead Hand is responsible for supporting the day
- to
- day operation of the distrution centre by:
a) Helping to manage workflow by completing hands-on warehouse tasks and providing assistance and guidance to other team members;
b) Providing training to and assigning duties to warehouse team members and agency associates; and

c) Contributing to a safety focused culture and a professional, team
- oriented work environment.

**Assigned Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Ensures daily shipping and receiving objectives are met through performing receiving, put away, replenishment, pick, packaging, shipping and return activities.
- Coordinates with management to delegate proper assignments for warehouse team members and agency associates on a shift
- to
- shift basis.
- Conducts quality check of picked orders.
- Performs the loading and unloading of products.
- Provides direction and feedback daily on tasks completed by team members.
- Provides training to new employees and agency associates.
- Performs cycle counts and quality initiatives as required.
- Completes and/or oversees warehouse general housekeeping including sweeping, re-cycle materials and garbage removal.
- Acts as back up supervisor as needed.

**Required Skills**:

- Knowledge and experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work assignments for self and others
- Clear communication skills - both written and verbal

- Capable of working with mínimal supervision
- Flexible and willing to work additional hours when required
- Ability to communicate in a positive, respectful and effective manner with both internal and external customers
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbered bin locations and picking line items
- Maintains focus and possess a sense of urgency to meet daily KPI’s in a fast-paced environment

**Education & Demonstrated Experience**:

- 1+ years experience in logistics and warehousing
- High School Diploma required
- Working towards a logistics management certificate program or degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management considered an asset
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Certification from a recognized training provider an asset
- Excellent knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures in a pick/pack and case pick environment

**Physical Demands**:

- Physical requirements include: lifting (35lbs), carrying, bending, sitting, stretching, and standing for long periods of time.

**Salary**: $15.50-$20.00 per hour
