Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada Photonic Full time
Description

Join us at the forefront of quantum innovation, where your leadership will define the narrative for an entire industry. As VP, Marketing you'll shape global perceptions and drive commercial adoption in a rapidly scaling organization.

This role will be responsible for elevating our visibility, strengthening product marketing around an evolving roadmap, and amplifying thought leadership with investors, policy makers, partners, and early customers. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll operate as a key member of the executive team, with direct input into company strategy and cross-functional initiatives.

As we scale, this role will bring dedicated focus to marketing: deepening foundational elements, storytelling, and elevating programs that position us as a thought leader in quantum computing. You will lead a small, high-impact marketing team. You are a strategic thinker but also roll up your sleeves to execute on plans.

Please include a cover letter with your resume (in one file) describing how you would be a great fit at Photonic and what attributes you could bring to our growing team.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO LEAD
  • Marketing Strategy – Define and execute our go to- market approach as the category matures. Collaborate with the executive, product and R&D teams to align positioning, messaging, segmentation, and channel strategy to business objectives.
  • Branding – Define and deliver brand positioning that differentiates us in the quantum technology landscape. Ensure consistent authentic and relevant voice, standardized brand architecture and guidelines for visual identity and messaging, create memorable brand experience, and establish metrics to track brand health, awareness and perception.
  • Thought Leadership – Architect a repeatable thought leadership engine (keynotes, op-eds, technical explainers, ecosystem content) that responsibly shapes expectations for quantum utility while maintaining scientific credibility.
  • Communications & Content – Own the narrative across all channels—executive communications, media/analyst relations, and integrated content strategy. Build a scalable content engine (web, social, video, technical explainers) that drives awareness and engagement. Scale an editorial and distribution system that blends owned, earned, and partnered content.
  • Product Marketing – Translate an evolving technical roadmap into clear value propositions, competitive/alternative technology positioning, and enablement for internal and external GTM teams.
  • Events & Sponsorships – Develop and execute an event strategy that amplifies our brand and thought leadership from flagship conferences and ecosystem forums to strategic sponsorships that position Photonic at the center of the quantum conversation.
  • Team, Operating Cadence & Measurement – Grow a lean, high leverage team; sharpen operating rhythms (quarterly planning, retros, success metrics). Manage budgets with stage appropriate discipline and clear ROI storytelling.
WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM
  • 12+ years in B2B deep tech or enterprise marketing with demonstrated expertise in scaling marketing operations in high-growth environment
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred
  • Proven success in category creation, market shaping, and influencing industry standards
  • Transformational leadership style; history of building and inspiring high-performing teams through hypergrowth and strategic change
  • Exceptional executive presence, with the ability to influence at board, investor, and policy levels. Domain familiarity with quantum, photonics, HPC, advanced semiconductors, or adjacent deep tech ecosystems would be a definite asset
WHY YOU SHOULD WORK WITH US
  • Work closely with some of the brightest innovators in quantum technologies to drive breakthroughs that redefine computing
  • Enjoy a fast-paced and fun environment where you can try new things while solving innovative challenges every day
  • Inclusive company culture that values collaboration
