Job Summary

Sultan Ahmet Turkish Cuisine Ottawa is hiring a Food Runner. This position is responsible for maintaining fast and accurate communication between the kitchen and dining room. We need someone fast, reliable, organized, and physically strong.

Position Details:

  • Job Title: Food Runner

  • Location: Ottawa

  • Schedule: Full-Time (fast-paced, long shifts)

  • Compensation: Competitive + gas reimbursement for shopping runs

Responsibilities

  • Know the full menu and Chef Guide 100%.

  • Memorize all table numbers and floor layout.

  • Handle delayed orders and manage guest concerns professionally.

  • Send complimentary items when needed.

  • Track kitchen tickets; organize, mark, and discard when complete.

  • Perform kitchen inventory checks and place purchase orders.

  • Must have a car for shopping; gas covered by the restaurant.

  • Deliver dishes quickly, accurately, and professionally.

  • Manage take-out box inventory.

  • Support long, physically demanding shifts.

  • Use Clover to take orders or payments in urgent situations.

  • Scan incoming invoices and share with management.

  • Send back any plates not matching the Chef Guide.

  • Clean tables and set up during slower times.

  • Keep countertop organized and clean.

  • Act as communication bridge between FOH and kitchen (must speak English).

Requirements

  • Strong English communication.

  • Fast, reliable, highly organized.

  • Can handle pressure and long shifts.

  • Physically strong (male candidates preferred due to role demands).

  • Valid driver's license + vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.20-$23.63 per hour

Expected hours: 17.20 per week
