Job DescriptionAECOM is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer for immediate employment for the London/ Kitchener, Ontario office.
Job Summary:
You will support projects across Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors, including renewable energy (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. You will work under moderate supervision and contribute to a variety of engineering design and analysis tasks while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
- Perform electrical analyses, calculations, and routine tests in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Assist in preparing technical specifications, design drawings, memos, and reports.
- Identify discrepancies in results and propose solutions using sound engineering judgment.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to fulfill project scope, budget, and timeline.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to evaluate the electrical conditions and provide recommendations.
- Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EIT's and technicians.
- Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering + four (4) years of relevant professional experience
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sectors such as Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability (PV and EV systems).
- Experience in design tools: AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar.
- Solid Knowledge of power systems: MV/LV distribution, lighting, controls, renewable energy systems.
- Proficiency with engineering calculations and preparing technical documentation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).
- Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a must.
- Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independently.
- Self-motivated, detail oriented and multi-tasking.
- Relocation is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship is not available for this position.
