About the Role We are an EV startup based in Chatham, ON (50 mins from Windsor, 1hr from London), building a high-performance electric vehicle platform from the ground up. We are looking for a Lead Electrical Co-op to own the architecture of our High Voltage PDU and VCU integration.

You will not be fetching coffee. You will be building the nervous system of a road vehicle.

The Logistics (Read First):

  • Start Date: January 5, 2026 (Flexible)
  • Duration: 4 Months or 12 Months (Full-time)
  • Pay: $24.00 / Hour
  • Location: Chatham, ON (On-site required).
  • Relocation: Reasonable rental location provided.
  • Paperwork: We provide an immediate AOJ (Arrange Own Job) Offer Letter to secure your university co-op credit.

What You Will Build:

  • High Voltage Systems: Design and package the Power Distribution Unit (PDU), including HVIL safety loops, contactor selection, and busbar routing.
  • Controls Integration: Map CAN bus messages (J1939/CANopen) between our VCU and off-the-shelf inverters.
  • Wiring: Design and route the full low-voltage harness (sensors, throttle, dashboard).
  • Hands-on: Crimp, solder, and troubleshoot electrical gremlins on the physical prototype.

Who We Need:

  • Current Engineering Student (Electrical, Mechatronics, or Systems) eligible for a Winter 2026 term.
  • Formula SAE / Student Alumni: If you have built a race car (FSAE, Baja, Solar Car), you are fast-tracked to an interview. Mention this in your resume.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with PCB design (Altium/KiCad), CAN bus tools, or wiring harness fabrication.
  • The "Scrappy" Factor: You are comfortable working in a startup environment and solving problems without a textbook.
