General Accountabilities
Support the Vice President of Engineering & Construction in implementing the business unit's goals/objectives/strategies by providing leadership, direction and supervision to Construction staff at various Project site locations within a geographic area as assigned by the Superintendent, Stations Construction.

Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Manager, Construction Operations to lead and oversee the execution of complex construction projects across our transmission and station portfolios. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, safety, and team leadership while aligning with corporate strategies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

  • Provide construction management and supervision across multiple high-voltage transmission and station projects.
  • Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Accountable for project cost control, scheduling, and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to Project Execution Plans, schedules, and estimates; identify and address deficiencies to improve productivity and reduce rework.

Team & Resource Management

  • Organize and coordinate internal and external resources to deliver projects efficiently.
  • Ensure a safe working environment through training, adherence to safety procedures, and promotion of the Internal Responsibility System (IRS).
  • Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment in accordance with collective agreements.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, project management, and operations teams to minimize disruptions and ensure alignment.
  • Maintain open communication with employees and union representatives to support a harmonious and productive workplace.

Leadership Accountabilities

  • Set clear expectations and provide strategic direction to construction teams.
  • Monitor and control cost, schedule, safety, quality, and environmental performance.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation in construction practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and corporate policies.
  • Build strong two-way relationships with team members to encourage engagement and feedback.

Qualifications

  • 10–12 years of progressive experience in construction management, including supervisory roles.
  • Demonstrated experience and Knowledge of Utility Construction practices and standards
  • Extensive experience in the construction of transmission lines (115kV–500kV), stations, and related infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of collective agreements
  • Familiarity with construction costing systems and bid-quality estimate preparation.
  • Proficient in network scheduling tools and project management software.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate based on project needs.
