Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, cooking, and delivering exceptional food service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the food industry while contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen operations, with prior restaurant or kitchen experience preferred.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and assembling ingredients for our menu dishes such as Shepherds Pie, Burgers, Beef Roast, Pastas, everything made from scratch using fresh raw ingredients.
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and equipment
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure consistency
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to uphold a safe working environment
- Support meal assembly and plating for service
Skills
- Minimum 5 years experience leading a kitchen and training staff.
- Experience with making pastas and coming up with specials to run every week. Examples of our signature dishes include, housemade pastas, beef wellington, shepherds pie, etc.
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service within a restaurant or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods
- Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Knowledge of the food industry trends and customer preferences is a plus
- Attention to detail in meal presentation and cleanliness standards
- Flexibility to adapt to different station responsibilities as needed
