Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, cooking, and delivering exceptional food service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the food industry while contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen operations, with prior restaurant or kitchen experience preferred.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
  • Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and assembling ingredients for our menu dishes such as Shepherds Pie, Burgers, Beef Roast, Pastas, everything made from scratch using fresh raw ingredients.
  • Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and equipment
  • Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure consistency
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to uphold a safe working environment
  • Support meal assembly and plating for service

Skills

  • Minimum 5 years experience leading a kitchen and training staff.
  • Experience with making pastas and coming up with specials to run every week. Examples of our signature dishes include, housemade pastas, beef wellington, shepherds pie, etc.
  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service within a restaurant or similar setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the food industry trends and customer preferences is a plus
  • Attention to detail in meal presentation and cleanliness standards
  • Flexibility to adapt to different station responsibilities as needed
