Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will support licensed physiotherapists in delivering patient-centered care, assisting with therapy sessions, and ensuring a smooth clinical workflow. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in patient care and medical terminology, with experience in hospital or acute care settings preferred. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient recovery and rehabilitation while gaining valuable clinical experience.

Duties

  • Assist physiotherapists with patient assessments and therapy sessions
  • Prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions
  • Support patients in performing prescribed exercises and activities
  • Monitor patient progress and report any concerns to the supervising physiotherapist
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatment plans
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper sterilization of equipment and treatment areas
  • Provide compassionate patient care, ensuring comfort and safety during therapy sessions
  • Educate patients on post-treatment exercises and injury prevention strategies

Requirements

  • Prior hospital or acute care experience is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology related to physiotherapy and patient care
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Compassionate attitude with a focus on patient well-being
  • Certification or training as a Physiotherapy Assistant is preferred but not mandatory for all applicants
  • Ability to adhere to healthcare protocols, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.20-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
