About the role
The Corporate Communications team leads Intact Financial Corporation's (IFC) internal and external communications in support of IFC's business objectives and strategic roadmap. This includes:
- Supporting and amplifying the common elements that bring us together, define our unique culture and drive outperformance
- Enhancing employee engagement across IFC – emphasizing what makes us a winning team.
- Protecting and promoting the IFC brand and reputation globally.
- Elevating IFC's role in helping to build resilient communities where we do business.
- Amplifying IFC's knowledge, expertise and thought leadership in our key markets.
What you'll do here:
- Taking part in the development and execution of IFC's external communications and PR strategy.
- Participating in the drafting and distribution of communication materials and tactics that are creative, effective, and reflect high-quality work (key messages, press releases, media responses, and more)
- Monitoring IFC's media presence, participating in reporting efforts and updating the team's trackers.
- Providing your team with organizational and administrative support on various initiatives and campaigns and act as a project coordinator as required.
- Assisting with editing and maintaining IFC website content updates and continuous user experience improvements.
- Overseeing requests and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders through projects assignments.
- Analyzing the results of the communication initiatives and strategies that have been implemented to recommend improvements.
- Supporting external vendor relationships.
What success looks like:
- Actively supports and contributes to key external communications and public relations campaigns and initiatives that contribute meaningfully towards Corporate Communications' objectives and action plan, and Intact's corporate objectives and strategy.
- Helps implementing effective processes and best practices in all projects.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal business partners and colleagues across the organization.
- Consistently shows curiosity by asking questions to enhance understanding and promote continuous improvement.
- Lives Intact's Values and takes accountability.
What you bring to the table:
- An undergraduate degree or bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, mass media/writing, marketing, journalism or a related discipline.
- One to three years of communications experience either within a public relations agency or corporate environment.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Highly organized and able to manage tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail - you can spot a typo a mile away
- Great judgement, ability to work well independently and as part of a team, and solution oriented.
- Takes initiative, is flexible and adapts easily to change.
- Committed to delivering high quality work standards.
Willingness and ability to learn new skills to support the team.
Highly computer literate with strong command of MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint Online, etc.).
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
- No Canadian work experience required, but must have authorization to work in Canada.
