IT Network & Systems Analyst – PetroChina International (Canada) Trading Ltd. ("PCIC")

PCIC has an immediate opening for an IT Network & Systems Analyst reporting to the Director, HR, HSE, IT & Admin

Position Overview:

PetroChina International (Canada) Trading Ltd. is seeking an IT Network & Systems Analyst to manage and maintain our PCIC office IT infrastructure and security systems while ensuring smooth coordination with our parent office in Houston. This role combines system, network, and security administration, with an emphasis on Microsoft environments, VMware, and Cisco technologies

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration

·      Manage and maintain Active Directory, including domain trust relationships, group policies, and user accounts.

·      Administer DNS and DHCP services to ensure reliable name resolution and IP management.

·      Oversee VMware environments for server virtualization, including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

·      Manage Office 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).

·      Implement and maintain endpoint management solutions to ensure device compliance and security.

Network & Security

·      Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot VPN tunnels for secure connectivity between offices.

·      Administer Cisco security technologies, including Cisco CES (Cloud Email Security) and Cisco Umbrella.

·      Monitor network performance, optimize bandwidth usage, and ensure reliable LAN/WAN connectivity.

·      Maintain firewalls, switches, and routers, applying security best practices.

·      Perform regular audits, patch management, and vulnerability assessments.

Monitoring & Compliance

·      Deploy and manage system and network monitoring tools to ensure high availability and performance.

·      Maintain documentation of IT processes, infrastructure, and configurations.

·      Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate IT policies.

·      Work closely with the Houston IT team to align on security and compliance initiatives.

User & Office Support

·      Provide day-to-day technical support for local office staff.

·      Train end users on security awareness and IT processes.

·      Serve as the key liaison between the local office and the Houston IT team for escalations, projects, and reporting.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

· years of hands-on experience in system administration and network engineering.

·      Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and domain trust relationships.

·      Proficiency with VMware virtualization platforms.

·      Experience with Cisco CES, Cisco Umbrella, VPNs, firewalls, and network routing/switching.

·      Familiarity with Office 365 administration and endpoint/device management solutions.

·      Solid understanding of IT security and compliance frameworks.

·      Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

·      Certifications such as CCNA, MCSE/MCSA, CompTIA Security+, VMware VCP, or Microsoft 365 Certified.

·      Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS).

·      Prior experience working with multi-office or international IT environments.
