Heavy Duty Truck Repair Shop Helper/Mechanic (Afternoons & Evenings)

Location: Edmonton, AB (T5A)

Position: Full-Time

Schedule: Afternoon & Evening Shifts (Flexible)

Compensation: Paid based on Job Completions

About Us:

We are a well-established trucking company with an in-house shop where we handle small to medium repairs for our fleet of trucks. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a reliable and motivated Helper/Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some mechanical experience, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have flexibility in working afternoons and evenings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in performing small to medium repairs and maintenance on our fleet of trucks.
  • Support senior mechanics in diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire replacements, brake repairs, and more.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and assist in troubleshooting vehicle problems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner to keep trucks on the road.
  • Assist with general shop upkeep as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience with truck maintenance or basic mechanical work is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Must be flexible to work afternoon and evening shifts.
  • Punjabi-speaking is preferred but not required.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong attention to detail.

Compensation:

  • Pay will be based on job completions, with opportunities for performance-based incentives.
  • Competitive pay, dependent on experience and efficiency.
