Heavy Duty Mechanic (Truck and Trailer)

Fort
Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at our Edmonton location.
What
You Will Do:
- Repair and replace hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other
necessary mechanical components - Perform incidental welding operations on steel and/or aluminum
equipment - Diagnose defects in heavy duty equipment and perform required
mechanical repairs - Perform repairs & preventative maintenance services on
heavy/medium trucks and trailers - Diagnose & troubleshoot mechanical & electrical failures
- Ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Uphold and embody FGI Customer Service Standards and Core Values with customers, colleagues and stakeholders
- Champion FGI's safety culture by performing all duties within established procedures and practices
- Other duties as assigned
What We Require:
- 3-5 years of heavy duty mechanic experience focused on truck and trailer repair preferred
- A combination of education and experience will also be considered
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements: Lift up to
75lbs, able to work while kneeling/squatting and crouching, work at
varying heights and enclosed areas - Previous welding Experience is an asset
- Install experience for plow, sanders, dump boxes etc. is an asset
- Excellent Customer Service skills – dedicated to
exceeding expectations of internal and external customers. - Strong written and verbal skills – ability to write
and speak succinctly with customers and colleagues. - Proficient
knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (email, word, excel) and ability to learn
in-house systems.
