Banyan Software is seeking a strategic and experienced
Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)
 to support our 
Toronto headquarters and North American operations
, while partnering with Operating Partners and portfolio company leaders across the region.

Reporting to the Vice President of People, the HRBP serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and plays a critical role in delivering HR solutions that drive business performance, employee engagement, and scalable growth. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, broad HR expertise, and experience supporting leaders in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders across Banyan Headquarters and North American Operating Companies to deliver strategic HR support aligned with business strategy and organizational goals.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable HR initiatives impacting workforce planning, organizational design, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Serve as a credible and trusted advisor on all HR matters, including employee relations, organizational effectiveness, leadership coaching, and cultural alignment.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to develop data-driven insights and solutions that drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive work culture by leading initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and overall employee experience.
  • Provide guidance and resolution on employee relations matters, ensuring alignment with North American employment laws, internal policies, and Banyan values.
  • Support the full talent lifecycle, including performance feedback, coaching, and development planning.
  • Collaborate with the Total Rewards team to ensure competitive, equitable compensation and benefits practices across North America.
  • Support M&A activity within the region, including HR due diligence and post-acquisition integration efforts such as change management, organizational design, and communications planning.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulatory requirements in partnership with legal and compliance teams.
  • Mitigate HR-related risks and uphold high standards of data privacy, confidentiality, and governance.
  • Actively contribute to HR projects and the ongoing evolution of HR practices, tools, and systems, with a focus on scalability and operational excellence.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Minimum of 
    10 years of progressive HR experience
    , including at least 
    7 years in a Human Resources Business Partner or equivalent strategic role
    , preferably within a multi-entity, shared services, or high-growth environment.
  • Professional HR certification (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of HR disciplines, including compensation, talent management, organizational development, employee relations, and employment law.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution across multiple HR functions.
  • Proven success navigating complexity and ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a high degree of discretion, diplomacy, and influence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven mindset.
  • Deep understanding of confidentiality, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance in an HR context.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and familiarity with HRIS and talent management systems.

The expected base salary for this position is: $130,000 - $175,000 CAD and includes annual bonus and equity. Salary is based on a number of factors including market conditions, location and may vary depending on job-related skills and experience.
