Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources for Canadian Operations, the incumbent acts as a consultant and coach to the Plant Director, the management team, and employees. In addition to ensuring sound management of all traditional HR activities, the role actively contributes to the implementation of new management practices, the development of managerial and employee skills, and the maintenance and enhancement of team engagement. This is done in close collaboration with the corporate HR team and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the plant HR team (internal trainer and talent acquisition advisor) to achieve plant HR objectives.
  • Support and advise managers and supervisors in all areas of human resources management.
  • Act as a coach to the plant's management and supervisory team to develop their skills and those of their teams.
  • Participate in developing strategies and initiatives to achieve plant HR objectives.
  • Act as a change agent in organizational development projects and, when necessary, lead such projects.
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, identification, selection, and retention of talent.
  • Ensure and coordinate follow-up on the skills development program.
  • Coordinate and ensure proper execution of the performance evaluation process and coach managers on this process.
  • Collaborate with the occupational health and safety team to improve and maintain best practices and support managers in their follow-up activities.
  • Actively participate in the annual salary and bonus administration process.
  • Coordinate and monitor absence and disability files, as well as certain steps in managing applicable employee benefits.
  • Ensure proper administration of the disciplinary process.
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to all aspects of HR management under their responsibility.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or any related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment; experience supporting and coaching a senior management team.
  • Proficiency in French, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to exercise influence effectively.
  • Demonstrated achievements in collaborative contexts, showing credibility, integrity, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work in an environment where change is constant.
  • Lean Management approach.
  • CRHA or CRIA designation (an asset).
