The LCBO in Trenton, ON, is a government-run liquor store that is part of the larger Liquor Control Board of Ontario. The LCBO's mission is to control and responsibly distribute alcohol in the province, offering a wide variety of beverages from around the world and locally, while generating profits that support public programs in Ontario. This specific location is situated in Quinte West at 150 Front St.

  • Location: 150 Front St, Quinte West, ON K8V 4N8.
  • Function: As a government agency, it is responsible for the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages in compliance with provincial laws.
  • Product Selection: The store sells a wide range of products, including spirits, wine, and beer, from both international and Ontario-based producers.
  • Financial Contribution: Profits from sales contribute to the Government of Ontario and help fund public services like healthcare and education.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Lead and supervise sales associates, ensuring they deliver outstanding customer service and meet sales targets.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new team members.
  • Manage payroll processing, scheduling, and time management for staff.
  • Coordinate merchandising efforts to optimize product placement and presentation.
  • Handle POS transactions, cash handling, pricing adjustments, and bookkeeping tasks accurately.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase store revenue and market share.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with purchasing decisions, and manage stock replenishment.
  • Conduct training and development sessions for team members to enhance skills and performance.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff and customers; address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Support marketing initiatives to promote store events and special promotions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and store procedures.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in retail sales, store management, or supervisory roles within a retail environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience in merchandising, pricing strategies, marketing, and sales management.
  • Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, training & development processes.
  • Ability to manage budgets, payroll, and administrative responsibilities efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent phone etiquette and customer service orientation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00-$34.00 per hour
