We are looking for an experienced Machine Operator for our Lockers Manufacturing plant based in Calgary, AB.
The Press/ Punch Brake Machine Operator is responsible for successfully completing various tasks within one or more areas of the press shop. Preferably well familiar with standards concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. The operator must be detail-oriented, possess a strong work ethic, display a contagious ability to motivate coworkers, successfully meet the daily goal requirements, and fearless attitude on exceeding company targets and must be able to work in the evening shift Monday- Thursday (4X10).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with Supervisor and Lead Hand to ensure that daily productivity targets are met in a timely and safe manner.
- Demonstrate positive and safe workplace behavior at all times and work as a team in the achievement of daily production targets.
- Completes a variety of tasks within a department (Press Shop, Assembly line, Cut to length and Shear)
- Sets up and operates break press and/ Or notching machines, in accordance with established safe procedures.
- Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion
- Comply with company's EHS guidelines and ensure all required PPE are used while working on the manufacturing shop floor
- Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery.
- Focuses on learning additional tasks and ensuring quality at all times.
- Perform repetitive tasks and handle material up to 5-20 Lbs. for 10-hour shift.
- Contributes to the overall functioning of the team by maintaining awareness of best practices/emerging issues, both internally and externally, sharing best practices and building effective working relationships across the team and company.

- Performs other duties as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3 years of manufacturing experience in the field or in a related area
- Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Able to demonstrate good understanding on Standard Work Instruction for all tasks expected to perform
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
- Must be flexible to work extra hours during weekdays and weekends
- Demonstrates some leadership skills through informal coaching and teaching others
- Ability, willing, and motivated to lead and mentor co-workers in the future
