Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, client-focused event and technical services through accurate and timely operation of AV technologies. Lead and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all participants enjoy a consistent, world-class onsite or hybrid experience.
  • Perform accurate setup, dry runs, dismantling, and operation of AV equipment including microphones, cameras, monitors, projectors, audio switchboards, communication relays, digital codecs, cables, and switches. Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics to ensure optimal functionality and hands-on technical support.
  • Review and analyze meeting and event requests from internal and external partners. Design and recommend appropriate AV solutions and configurations to support the specific needs of each event.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of AV standards and operating procedures in accordance with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks. Create and manage a service catalog to promote efficiency and consistency in AV service delivery.
  • Perform programming and design enhancements for advanced control and integration systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, QSC) by creating, modifying, and maintaining control system code, user interfaces, and control scripts.

Qualifications

  1. Proven experience operating and supporting AV technologies across diverse live and hybrid events.
  2. Strong technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues under pressure.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-first mindset.

Additional Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum: College diploma in Visual Production, Multimedia Operations, Digital Event Management, or IT Technical Support (or equivalent education, training, and/or experience).
  • Preferred: Additional coursework or certification in AV systems integration or IT service management.

Experience

  • Minimum: 3 years of technical experience and operational knowledge of AV technologies supporting live events, meetings, formal committees, and/or conferences.
  • Preferred: Experience with programming advanced control and integration systems such as Crestron, Extron, or QSC.

Certifications and Designations

  • Minimum: Valid Driver's Licence.
  • Preferred/Assets:
  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) designation.
  • Certifications with Crestron, Polycom, Extron, Cisco, or CTS programs.

Assets

  • Knowledge of video conferencing systems (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ITSM frameworks and service documentation practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging AV technologies.
