The Role

Reporting to the Produce Department Head (or his/her delegates), the Assistant Cooler Keeper is responsible for assisting Cooler Keeper to administer and perform activities like receiving, checking product quality, processing reports, returning products etc. The position also needs to follow FIFO concept, maintain inventory, ensure workplace cleanliness and deliver good customer service.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Assist Cooler Keeper to administer and perform activities like receiving, checking product quality, returning products
  2. Maintain inventory level and product quality, follow FIFO concept and timely classify, store and label products
  3. Follow procedures to process produce inventory control reports
  4. Preform regular quality check, follow procedures to process sub-standard products and manage shrinkage
  5. Maintain storage area cleanliness, wash and maintain relevant work tools are clean and well-kept
  6. Keep warehouse, display and walk-in coolers clean and tidy
  7. Prepare various produce for sales activities, include but not limited to sort, cut, wash, weigh, pack and label various produce products and display them in the display cases
  8. Be familiar with the location of produce items; keep up-to-date with all in-store Produce Department promotion activities

  1. Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior

  4. Good attendance record, comply with company's rules and regulations

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

  1. Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays
  2. Be prepared to stand long time and to hands on dealing with products and lifting of products of 50 pounds on a regular basis; able to use working related tools in a safe manner
  3. Be prepared to work in low temperature (0-4 ℃) environment regularly
  4. Not allergic in handling produce products
  5. Able to communicate in English and Chinese (Cantonese &/or Mandarin) an asset
  6. Knowledge of basic work safety
  7. Relevant experience in handling produce products is preferred
