Senior IT Field Technician

S+C Partners LLP, a highly regarded full-service CPA and advisory firm based in the village of Streetsville in Mississauga. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior IT Field Technician to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role ideal for an individual who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys solving diverse technical challenges.
As a key member of our IT team, you will provide on-site support to both internal users and external clients across the GTA. You will play a vital role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and implementing IT systems, while also offering consultative guidance to help clients optimize their technology environments.
This is a full-time, in-person role that requires travel to various client locations. Candidates must have their own reliable vehicle and valid driver's license.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Site Technical Support:
- Provide professional, timely, and effective IT support for both internal users and external clients.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues across workstations, servers, and cloud environments.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, network equipment, and mobile devices.
- Ensure systems are up to date, secure, and optimized for performance.
Client Service & Consultation:
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, delivering personalized IT solutions aligned with client needs.
- Conduct assessments of client systems and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Manage client relationships professionally, ensuring clear communication, prompt service, and high satisfaction.
- Collaborate with account and project teams to deliver seamless IT support and technology implementation.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with fellow technicians and IT specialists to troubleshoot complex issues and share knowledge.
- Support larger IT projects, migrations, and deployments as part of a collaborative team.
- Contribute to internal process improvements and documentation to enhance service delivery.
Continuous Learning:
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and cybersecurity standards.
- Seek opportunities to expand technical expertise and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, ITIL, etc.) are an asset.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–6 years of hands-on IT experience, preferably in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or similar environment.
- Proven experience providing on-site technical support and troubleshooting for a range of systems and clients.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, cloud services, and security protocols.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, and common business applications.
- Experience with networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, routers).
- Familiarity with backup systems, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and endpoint management tools.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practices.
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Team-oriented, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Other Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel to client sites across the GTA.
- Must be able to work on-site; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
