We are looking for someone who has experience of working in the Engineering, Manufacturing or Construction sector and enjoys a variety of work including the delivery of commercial solutions and improvement initiatives. This role offers a significant platform for personal development and the opportunity to get involved in a challenging and exciting critical Major Refurbishment Project for one of our key Clients. We are seeking people who are keen to develop to their full potential to the mutual benefit of the individual, the team and the company and who are committed to growing successful partner and client relationships.
Your role- Have the responsibility to be the Candu lead in the Contract Management function on a Major Refurbishment project within a Joint Venture environment.
- You will work closely with the Joint Venture Leadership, to deliver the project commercial strategy and ultimately support the management of project agreement throughout the delivery phase of the project.
- You will act as a key point of contact to Client for contractual matters. You must be able to deal with the client on delicate matters tactfully and professionally while protecting all JV Partner interests.
- Liaise with and provide guidance on contract matters to the project team at all levels.
- You may be required to manage and mentor more junior Commercial Staff within the project as the project grows.
- Review, negotiate and draft project commercial agreements, including confidentiality agreements, purchase orders, contracts, consortium agreements, joint venture agreements and, having regard for their practical application and inherent risk.
- Assist in formation and administration of contracts with Subcontractors and ensure that required and relevant terms and conditions are flowed down to Subcontractors.
- Identify and analyze potential commercial risks and liabilities associated with ongoing project and associated supplier agreements.
- Prepare project specific contract administration manuals based on corporate template.
- Assist project staff with the interpretation and practical application of contract documents.
- Assist project staff with identification, documentation, and quantification of changes in the Work and claims.
- Obtain the assistance of the appropriate Legal department, as required.
- Liaison with Project Controls Manager, Project Finance Director and other key Project Leadership to monitor and manage the financial health of the project.
- Provide presentations and workshops, as required by the Supervisor, to the employees with respect to contract administration including, corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines, change and delay management.
- Access to confidential information to support medium-and long-term financial analysis and planning.
- Attends steering committee meetings between AtkinsRéalis and other partners and prepares minutes of meeting recording agreed decisions and actions going forward.
- Other duties as assigned.
- University degree in Engineering, Finance or Law, or an MBA, with at least experience in a similar role in a construction or high technology industry. Formal training in contract law or contract administration is an asset.
- Experience in commercial governance, contract management and project delivery.
- Experience in Intellectual Property management.
- Proven ability to organize, set priorities and handle multiple complex tasks at one time consistent with corporate processes.
- Understanding of client and client organizations, objectives, personnel, and environments.
- Ability to reconcile usually disparate objectives of buyer and seller as contracting parties.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Experience in communicating with various stakeholder groups from internal project staff to clients, subcontractors and the executive team.
- Ability to effectively present information at both detail and summary level. Ability to interact with executive management and operational level staff.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Superior communication and writing skills.
