Who we are looking for:

We are now looking for an experienced retail professional who resonates with our brand and our mission, to share this shopping revolution with Canadians, as a Part-Time Deputy Store Manager for our Flagship store in Roncesvalles. You will have a passion for the brand's values, a leadership mindset, and be open to professional growth opportunities as we continue to expand our presence regionally. As we grow, you will be supported by our knowledgeable regional team.

What you will do:

Your primary responsibilities will be focused on 3 key areas that support Store Management, Team Management, and Customer Service Management.

Deputy Store Management: Maintaining a welcoming, safe and clean environment for team members and customers.

  • Manage the store according to The Source Bulk Foods procedures, systems and standards as set out in MyTribe (company intranet).
  • Ensure that opening and closing checklist tasks are performed diligently at all times
  • Manage inventory to obviate any out-of-stock situation.
  • Contact suppliers where necessary when there are issues with inventory or delivery in a timely manner.
  • Receipt in deliveries and check details back to purchase order. Record in Revel and follow up suppliers when there are errors or missing invoices in a timely manner.
  • Monitor stock of all sundry items and place orders as required.
  • Place stock orders on a weekly basis in the absence of the store owners/manager
  • Constantly monitor product presentation and quality standards.
  • Ensure that inventory is managed in compliance with our hygiene and product procedures.
  • Constantly monitor the overall cleanliness and presentation of the store, including serving counter and the storeroom.
  • Undertake daily POS and banking reconciliation procedures when instructed by store
  • manager.
  • Ensure all cash procedures are carried out according to the MyTribe Process notes.
  • Ensure the retail store environment complies with all Work Health and Safety requirements.
  • Review weekly store reports and advise Store owner of any store management or team member issues to be discussed in the absence of the store manager.
  • Ensure all tasks as described in the daily/weekly checklist are delegated and performed bythe team and signed off on.

Team Management: Develop and empower team members through active performance management and knowledge sharing while modeling our company values.

  • Ensure the team is fully trained using the online training materials and completed within the deadlines.
  • Support and motivate the team to achieve The Source Bulk Foods high standard of customer service.
  • Ensure that all team members meet the personal presentation standards.
  • Advise the Store Manager of any team member issues and recommended actions.
  • Provide support to any team members regarding customer complaints or difficult questions.

Customer Service: Create experiences that instill loyalty in customers and drives commercially positive outcomes.

  • Ensure that all team members maintain the customer service standards.
  • Provide a great example of how to greet, serve and farewell customers.
  • Ensure that every customer leaves the store delighted with their retail experience.
  • Manage customer complaints as per the procedures set out in MyTribe.

Store management:

  • Effective store operation.
  • Efficient inventory management.
  • Documentation of all accidents, whether team member or customer.
  • Documentation of all customer complaints and requests.
  • Achievement of store key performance indicators in terms of Sales and Average sale value.

Where the Store Manager and Owner are absent:

Store Management:

  • Effective store operation (ensuring bin levels are maintained, cleanliness and presentation of store is maintained, ensuring inventory is recorded accurately, ensuring store supplies are managed, reducing waste where possible, dealing with any issues that arise).
  • Resolve any issues with key suppliers.

Team management:

  • Skill levels of all team members.
  • Performance of all team members in regards to store presentation, cleanliness and stock refill systems.
  • Team attitude
  • Low team member turnover

Customer service management:

  • Achievement of customer service standards
  • Number of customer complaints
  • Number of repeat customers

Performance review:

The Deputy Store Manager's performance will be reviewed on a bi-annual basis.

What we are looking for:

  • 1 - 3 years of management experience in a retail setting
  • Food Handling certification (preferred)
  • Passion for and understanding of healthy, whole foods
  • Clearly communicate and embody TSBF, vision and values
  • Adhere to all operational and health and safety policies and procedures, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Able to work a range of shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Willingness to participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and mentoring new talent
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to effectively manage special projects
  • Outstanding people management skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing work environment
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able and willing to lift objects up to 25KGs

What we are offering:

  • $22 - $24 Per Hour - depending on experience

  • Physical Environment: Normal work environment is in the store; tasks may involve some physical risks requiring basic safety precautions. This position routinely requires sitting, standing, bending/stooping, operating a computer, and walking.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
