Position Overview:

DenMar Electric Ltd. is currently seeking a self-motivated and responsible Journeyperson Electrician to join our dynamic team. As a licensed Journeyman Electrician with extensive hands-on experience in residential, commercial, and specialized electrical systems, you will play a key role in leading and supervising teams, troubleshooting, and ensuring top-quality electrical installations. This position involves working on a variety of residential and commercial projects, with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and quality-driven outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all electrical installations and systems comply with local and Canadian codes.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components across a range of projects, including power and lighting, motor and transformer installations, fire alarm systems, CCTV, and more.
  • Mentor and train apprentices to enhance their skill set and maintain high safety and work standards.
  • Manage tools and materials efficiently and maintain organized job sites.
  • Maintain safety standards and follow all safety protocols at work sites, including regular participation in safety training and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Red-Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification required
  • 2+ years of recent experience in multi-family residential/commercial electrical work (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Site Ready BC training or equivalent certification
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience with a broad range of electrical systems including residential new construction, commercial services, solar and battery systems, and more.
  • Familiarity with programmable/low voltage lighting systems.
  • Experience working on Fire Alarm Systems
