The Mission of the Role: We are seeking a strategic, hands-on, and dynamic Director of Operations to ensure the seamless, efficient, and compliant functioning of our entire network of daycare centers. You will be the architect of our operational systems, the guardian of our quality standards, and a key leader in driving our growth. This role is the critical link between our educational mission, our families, our staff, and our business objectives and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Multi-Site Operational Leadership & Compliance:· Oversee and standardize daily operations across all locations. Serve as the primary point of contact for Alberta Health Services (AHS) and licensing compliance. Ensure all locations consistently meet and exceed regulatory standards.· Implement, audit, and maintain comprehensive checklists for supervisors, staff, and kitchen teams. Own the enrollment process, optimizing systems for efficiency and a flawless family onboarding experience.
Financial, Inventory & Resource Management:· Oversee centralized inventory management, purchasing, and ordering for supplies, food, and educational materials. Review and approve staff time sheets for payroll accuracy across all locations. Develop and manage operational budgets in collaboration with leadership.
Marketing & Community Engagement Coordination:· Work directly with the marketing team to develop local and brand-level strategies. Manage the company's social media presence (Facebook/Instagram), including creating/reviewing posts, replying to comments, and monitoring messages.· Ensure our online reputation and community engagement reflect our brand values.
Educational Philosophy & Quality Assurance:· Partner with Educational Directors to ensure activity planning and classroom implementation align with our core philosophy at every location.· Audit and support the readiness of materials and supplies for planned educational activities.· Uphold the quality and consistency of our educational offering.
Technology, Systems & Family Communication:· Act as the key business lead with IT partners to resolve system issues, improve platforms, and enhance our operational technology.· Monitor and uphold standards for parent communication. Develop systems to ensure timely replies to emails and messages, and support staff in maintaining excellent family partnerships.
Who You Are (The Ideal Candidate):· A proven leader with 3+ years of multi-unit operations management experience, in childcare & education.
An expert in AHS and Alberta childcare licensing regulations with a flawless compliance track record.
A data-driven systems thinker who can build, document, and scale processes.
A superb communicator and collaborator, comfortable working with executives, marketing/IT teams, center directors, and parents.
Tech-savvy, with experience using childcare management software, social media platforms, and standard business systems.
Financially literate, with experience in budgeting, purchasing, and payroll oversight.
A passionate advocate for high-quality early childhood education who understands the balance between business and care.
