POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Die Cutting Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will operate and maintain die-cutting equipment to deliver precise, high-quality products that meet customer specifications. This position will report to the Production Supervisor. You will be responsible for machine setup, monitoring production for accuracy, and performing routine maintenance to ensure consistent output and minimal downtime. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, enjoys hands-on technical work, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment. When machines are not in operation, you will play a key role in supporting other production tasks, contributing to team efficiency and success. With attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to safety, you'll help maintain the high standards our customers expect. This role operates on a day shift. 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday with mandatory overtime as required to support business demands.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and run die-cutting jobs efficiently while meeting safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Review job orders to determine required quantities, stock specifications, and any special die-cutting instructions.
  • Monitor product quality throughout production and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Complete accurate written and electronic production reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform required maintenance and cleaning of die-cutting equipment to ensure reliable operation.
  • Safely perform all tasks on and around press equipment, adhering to company safety guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and improve skills.
  • Perform die setup and changeovers between production runs.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned to support production goals and team success.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and remain on feet for extended periods of time during production shifts.
  • Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and handling materials throughout the workday.
  • Regular lifting, pushing, or pulling of materials and finished products (up to 50 lbs).
  • Manual dexterity and hand–eye coordination to operate, adjust, and maintain machinery.
  • Ability to climb stairs or ladders as needed to access equipment or storage areas.
  • Visual acuity to inspect labels and materials for accuracy, quality, and alignment.
  • Tolerance for working around noise, dust, and moving machinery with appropriate protective equipment.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a Bobst Die Cutter, or equivalent equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proven troubleshooting skills.
  • High level of attention to detail ensure accuracy and product quality.
  • Familiarity with folding carton production environments is considered an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret job orders, specifications, and basic technical documents.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks in a production environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow safety protocols consistently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to take direction from supervisors and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Willingness to participate in training and ongoing skill development.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as production needs require.
