Invistec has an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Land Development Engineering Designer. In this position, you will work in partnership with other disciplines on a variety of small to large scale residential and commercial projects. Your role will be to bring designs forward to approval and construction. There is opportunity to continue to advance your career either into the Project Management stream, or to maintain a technical role.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide design support for various projects including municipal engineering, site grading, storm, sanitary and road designs.
  • Prepare Drawings for DP/DSSP submission.
  • Prepare Subdivision Design Drawings.
  • Technical analysis of storm and sanitary design sheets and modelling software
  • Assist in preparation of Opinion of Probable Costs (OPC's)
  • Assist in preparation of tenders and contract documents.
  • Preparation of plan of record drawings.
  • Work with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved and maintained.

What you'll offer:

  • Completion of a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or relevant University Degree
  • Registration in good standing with ASET or APEGA
  • Knowledge of City of Calgary standards and procedures would be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of related SWM software and HNA software is considered an asset.
  • At least 3 years experience of to land development, project design and drafting.
  • Strong communication, leadership, problem – solving and interpersonal skills
  • Design experience with strong attention to detail.
  • Self starter that enjoys working within a growing environment
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills in dealing with clients, contractors and municipals.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license with clean abstract.
