We're a place where you can apply your passion and collaborate with top talent on work that's critical to our clients, our communities, and the industry at large.

In this position, you could work as a project engineer, discipline lead, project technical lead, project manager, resident engineer – within Barbados or regionally - or a combination of roles to guide the projects to successful outcomes for the communities we work with. As an Intermediate Civil Engineer, you will work with a variety of personnel and skillsets on multi-discipline teams and mentor and train junior staff both technically and professionally.
Your Key Responsibilities

- Perform engineering design tasks on assigned projects independently or under supervision of the Project Technical Lead or Project Manager, including engineering drawings, engineering reports, and presentations.
- Perform client account management and support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, assisting/writing proposals, participating in client interviews and supporting negotiations for project contracts in Barbados.
- Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owners, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Manage and lead other team members while working on projects; complete tasks and delegate specific project tasks to team members as appropriate.
- Prepare tender and contract documents for construction (i.e., engineering drawings and specifications) and participate in constructability reviews and/or site inspections.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- A well-developed understanding of civil engineering design, including stormwater/drainage, rigid and flexible pavement design, retaining walls, water supply, wastewater disposal systems, surveying, grading/earthworks, and erosion & sediment control—paired with proven capability in structural analysis and technical report writing. Efficient project management and technical duties on multiple concurrent projects.
- Understand client expectations, budgeting, proposal writing, and producing high-quality deliverables.
- Ability to lead and support junior staff through all phases of projects, checking accuracy, quality and completeness.
- Strong knowledge of civil systems means-and-methods, materials, and industry standards. Understanding Regional, United States and British/EU design standards is preferred. Strong communication, presentation, and interview skills are preferred.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of services.
- General understanding of software as well as relevant discipline software programs (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Tekla, PCSWMM, StormCAD, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, REVIT, others) is a plus but not required.
Education and Experience
