The Assistant Program Coordinator plays a key role in enhancing the undergraduate student experience within the Faculty of Engineering. This position focuses on implementing student development programs that foster engagement, resilience, and career readiness through experiential learning opportunities. Working closely with faculty, staff, student groups, and community partners, the coordinator helps create a collaborative environment that supports student success.Responsibilities include supporting the coordination and administration of a large volunteer leadership program, planning and delivering workshops and events, and maintaining resources and data to ensure effective program delivery. This role is ideal for someone passionate about student development, event coordination, and building inclusive, impactful experiences that prepare students for life beyond the classroom.Job SummaryResponsible for the implementation of student development programs for the undergraduate student population. Utilize a diverse range of experiential learning strategies to promote engagement, resilience, skills development, and future employability of students. Create a culture of collaboration and partnership in ensuring student success by cultivating and maintaining relationships with faculty, staff, student groups, student governments, and the greater community.Purpose & Key FunctionsMaintain a large volunteer leadership program by coordinating central recruitment, application, selection, training, communication and program design strategy.Assist in the delivery of programs that address the situational and developmental needs, priorities, activities, and stakeholder involvement for the undergraduate student population, by communicating with students and supporting the planning of conferences and community-engaged learning experiences.Facilitate workshops and presentations in response to staff, faculty, and student requests.Update and maintain workshop and presentation resources and materials.Gather, update, verify, and run reports from database for purposes of program reviews, maintenance of education and development programs and services, marketing, promotions etc.Communicate with participants via email to provide updates on campaigns and development opportunities.Support the planning of leadership development and community-engaged events, within established deadlines and models of delivery, by organizing workshop presenters and monitoring registration.Facilitate meetings with groups of student volunteers to provide functional support in leading leadership development, self-reflection, and civic engagement workshops.Assist with the distribution of evaluation materials such as surveys and rubrics used to measure program outcomes and effectiveness.Assist with the creation and distribution of needs assessment materials used to measure emerging student needs in the area of student leadership development.Regularly update and maintain appropriate information on the departmental website and social media channels.Cultivate and maintain partnerships with campus stakeholders and the greater community, as part of a shared approach to fostering student success.Participate in committees and working groups to promote the work and provide information regarding the Student Success Centre.Promote connectivity and help-seeking behaviours in students by maintaining an awareness of resources, information, and services offered across the University.SupervisionOngoing responsibility for supervising up to 9 casual employees at any one time.QualificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.Requires 3 years of relevant experience.AssetsUndergraduate degree in Business Administration;
