This position provides guidance on waste reduction, diversion strategies, regulatory adherence, and environmental stewardship. The advisor collaborates with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure waste handling aligns with corporate sustainability goals and legal requirements.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform day-to-day duties, such as providing environmental technical support to Operations Personnel that aligns with Enbridge's vision and the direction of Safety & Reliability

  • Independently review and develop procedures, guidance documents, and training programs for internal stakeholders to maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. 

  • Ability to communicate with cross functional groups, field personnel, waste vendors, and environmental team members pertaining to waste requirements.

  • Develop, participate in, and facilitate environmental training for field and projects personnel in accordance with environmental regulations and standard operating procedures.

  • Independent development and review of internal Waste Plans.

  • Research and summarize CAN / USA environmental waste regulations.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental sciences or related fields

  • Minimum 4 years of directly related experience with knowledge and practical experience in the energy industry.

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills with effective interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrate strong environmental technical and/or procedural writing skills.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office products, primarily the use of word processing, environmental database applications, presentation and spreadsheet software, Encompass experience.

  • Project management skills with practical experience developing and executing project work plans.

  • Analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to analyze multifaceted situations/problems/concepts along with the capacity to venture beyond core competencies.

  • Fast paced setting

  • Approximately 10% of travel is required for conferences and team events. Valid passport is required.

Physical Requirements:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
