Position Summary:

Mobile Quality Lab Canada is responsible for ensuring the quality of all mobile and AI-enabled products launched in the Canadian market. At MQL, we aim to set the mobile industry standard in quality by holding ourselves accountable through our integrity, expertise, and commitment to our customers.

As a member of Mobile Quality Lab Canada, the Bilingual Test Associate will perform daily testing and evaluation of AI models in Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-to-Speech (TTS), and Neural Machine Translation (NMT). This includes manual evaluation of English Québécois French outputs, transcription of French audio, and feedback on translation and speech quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform manual application testing in Québécois French, including ASR/TTS/NMT model outputs.

· Evaluate and score system results for accuracy, fluency, naturalness, and cultural appropriateness.

· Conduct manual transcription of Québécois French audio for evaluation purposes.

· Document recurring errors and provide clear feedback to improve model performance.

· Work under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail and consistency.

Requirements

Education:

· Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

· Education in French: Completed high school, CEGEP, college, or university in French within Quebec or another francophone region.

· French immersion background: Candidates who attended French immersion schools in Ontario or other provinces may be considered if they demonstrate strong Quebec French fluency and cultural familiarity.

Knowledge:

· Professional-level reading, writing, and speaking skills in English and Québécois French.

· Familiarity with mobile platforms (Android, iOS).

· Basic proficiency with productivity tools (Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets).

· Understanding of speech, translation, or linguistic quality assessment is an asset.

Experience:

· Prior work in language testing, translation, transcription, or QA is preferred but not required.

· Experience with ASR, TTS, or NMT technologies is an advantage.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $1.00-$10.00 per year
