Responsibilities

  • Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients according to established recipes and standards
  • Support cooking activities by preparing ingredients and maintaining cooking stations in a clean, organized manner
  • Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines
  • Aid in menu planning by organizing ingredients and ensuring availability for daily meal service
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately
  • Support food service operations by serving meals efficiently and courteously to customers or clients
  • Follow all safety protocols related to kitchen equipment, knife skills, and food storage to prevent accidents or contamination

Experience

  • Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards within the food industry or restaurant environment
  • Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, catering, or serving is advantageous
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and knife skills is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Prior involvement in food handling or food service roles that emphasize teamwork and attention to detail
