Interior Design Technologist

Job Summary:The Senior Interior Design Technologist will play a vital role in providing technical support to interior designers, ensuring the accurate and efficient implementation of interior design concepts for healthcare facilities.
This position requires expertise in interior design technology, building systems, and coordination with other design disciplines.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with interior designers to develop technical implementation of interior design concepts.Prepare detailed interior design drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and millwork details.Assist in the selection and specification of interior finishes, materials, and furniture suitable for healthcare environments.Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other design disciplines to integrate interior design solutions seamlessly.Ensure that interior design projects comply with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.Provide expertise in the use of design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.Conduct site visits to review construction progress and verify adherence to design intent.Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source interior design products and materials.Assist in the preparation of construction documents and detailing for interior design elements.Review and evaluate shop drawings and submittals related to interior design components.Stay informed about industry trends, new interior design technologies, and sustainable design practices.Mentor and provide guidance to junior interior design technologists.Qualifications:Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design Technology or a related field.5+ years of experience as an Interior Design Technologist, preferably in healthcare projects.Strong proficiency in using design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.Demonstrated experience in producing detailed interior design drawings and construction documents.Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards relevant to healthcare facilities.Familiarity with interior design products, finishes, and materials suitable for healthcare environments.Understanding of construction processes and ability to coordinate with other design disciplines.Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in technical drawings.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with design teams.Ability to problem-solve and find solutions to technical challenges.Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and 3D visualization tools is advantageous.
