Our Challenge
Our client is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support large, complex SQL Server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role involves managing database operations, performing upgrades and troubleshooting, and supporting data migration and integration efforts across cloud and on-premise platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances.
- Implement and manage high availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups.
- Troubleshoot performance issues, optimize queries, and conduct performance tuning.
- Develop and oversee backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Support migration of databases to Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and recovery plans.
- Ensure security protocols and access controls are enforced.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure continuous system availability.
Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years of DBA experience in environments of similar size and complexity as a public sector company.
- Proven expertise with SQL Server 2016 or higher, including availability groups.
- Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization skills.
- Experience with cloud database migrations to Azure and AWS.
- Familiarity with multi-tenant environments and help desk procedures.
- Knowledge of reporting tools such as PowerBI and PowerView.
- Ability to produce detailed technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and team collaboration experience.
