We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Minute Taker for in-person and virtual meetings in the downtown area. This contract-based position will begin with an in-person engagement, specifically for board meetings.

This position is ideal for someone who is a freelance writing professional, or retired and is looking for part time engagements with the occasional busy week.

Key Details:

  • Hours: Typically 5 to 10 hours per week (1 to 2 meetings), with occasional weeks requiring up to 20 hours (4 meetings).
  • Location: Primarily virtual, but availability for in-person meetings may be required a few times per month.
  • Flexibility: Workload may vary based on availability and preference.
  • Growth Opportunities: Additional virtual contracts are frequently available, proficiency will result in increased compensation (less editing for us) and higher profile opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings in-person and virtually
  • Accurately record meeting minutes, capturing key points, decisions, and action items.
  • Ensure all minutes are comprehensive, clear, and professionally presented.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information discussed during meetings.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a minute taker or in a similar administrative role.
  • Excellent listening, writing, and communication skills in the English language.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and concise documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Compensation:

Compensation is based on the length of the meeting.

In-Person Meetings:

  • $125 for the first two hours of the meeting.
  • $50 for each additional hour of the meeting.
  • Travel compensation of $25 - $75 depending on distance

Virtual Meetings:

  • $90 for the first two hours of the meeting.
  • $40 for each additional hour of the meeting.
