About Your Role
The Drawing Technologist (DT) is responsible for the creation and preparation of project drawings and documentation. This position is responsible for creating infrastructure and line drawings in AutoCAD based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other information. The DT works closely with sales and project engineers to confirm the technical accuracy of the package for implementation and the project team for timelines, requirements, and closeout documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Drawings: Create and maintain detailed infrastructure and line drawings derived from the project sales documentation, ensuring compliancewith technical standards and project requirements.
- Cable pull lists: Develop comprehensive cable pull lists to assist installation teams with precise cable routing and identification.
- Small Parts List: Prepare detailed lists of small parts required from inventory, ensuring all miscellaneous parts are accounted for onsite implementation.
- Data Management: Accurately load equipment BOMs and drawings into a data management software, for project tracking, inventory control and service.
- Collaboration: Work with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings align with system designs and project scopes.
- Quality Assurance: Review and update drawing standards with lessons and proficiencies learned. Update drawings with as-built information provided by the onsite team, documenting changes and adjustments in the field.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (preferred).
- Proficient in AutoCAD – 2 years of experience.
- AVIXA - CTS is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills..
- Ability to multitask and manage several project goals simultaneously
