WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Role:

We are seeking a talented Engineering Technologist to join our Engineering Support team. The ideal candidate will combine strong drafting skills with a systems-oriented mindset to ensure smooth engineering operations and continuous improvement. This role will report to Director, Product Development. This role is critical in maintaining the accuracy of engineering documentation, managing change processes, supporting engineering systems, and driving efficiency through integration and automation. 

Responsibilities:

Drafting & Documentation

  • Create, update, and maintain manufacturing drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation to industry and company standards.Ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness of all drawings for production, quality, and supplier use.
  • Support engineering teams with layout, dimensioning, tolerance analysis, and drawing revisions.
  • Interpreting and assessing PPAP (production part approval process) reports and implementing necessary changes.

Engineering Change Management

  • Prepare and process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), ensuring timely updates to drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical records.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality, supply chain) to ensure smooth implementation of design and process changes.
  • Maintain compliance with internal revision control practices.

Engineering Systems Administration

  • Administer and maintain engineering tools such as PLM, PDM, or CAD systems, ensuring data integrity and user support.
  • Provide training, troubleshooting, and best practice guidance for engineering system users.
  • Manage permissions, workflows, and system configurations to align with business needs.

Integration & Automation

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts, templates, and integrations between engineering tools and business systems (e.g., CAD PLM).
  • Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes through automation and digital workflows.
  • Support the rollout of new engineering tools, integrations, and system upgrades.

WHO YOU ARE:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • 5 years of experience in a related role.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • C.E.T. Designation considered an asset

Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks and/or OnShape is preferred).
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems (e.g., Arena, SolidWorks PDM, and/or OnShape are preferred).
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO, ASME and CSA drafting standards.
  • Familiarity with ECN/ECO processes and engineering documentation standards.
  • Strong understanding of automation tools (e.g., Python, VBA, APIs, or CAD macros) preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of fluid and thermodynamics principles.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
