Instrumentation Technician

About the Role:

Arbec Forest Products is currently seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the mill's instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, test, repair, and calibrate industrial instruments and control systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, sensors, transmitters, analyzers, and other automated systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and ensure accurate documentation of work performed.
  • Collaborate with electricians, millwrights, and production teams to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance process reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Industrial Instrumentation Technician Certificate or Red Seal Journeyperson with 2 years of experience.
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (pulp and paper, sawmill, or OSB experience considered an asset).
  • Strong understanding of process control systems, electronics, and calibration procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
