About Us

Gull River Veterinary Services is a compassionate, client-focused veterinary practice dedicated to providing high-quality care to pets and exceptional service to their owners. We're currently seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our hardworking team.

This hybrid role is ideal for someone who loves animals and enjoys interacting with people. You'll play a key part in both the front desk and the exam room.

Responsibilities

Reception Duties:

  • Greet clients and pets in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries
  • Check-in/out clients and process payments
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage client communications

Assistant Duties:

  • Assist veterinarians during exams and procedures
  • Safely restrain animals for exams and treatments
  • Clean and prep exam rooms and surgical areas
  • Help maintain clinic cleanliness
  • Clean and wrap surgical packs
  • Monitor patient behavior and report concerns to the medical team

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care environment preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Comfortable handling dogs, cats, and small animals
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Familiarity with veterinary software (e.g., Avimark, Cornerstone) is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
