JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties

  • Supervises the warehousing and manufacturing of parts, material and fabricated products
  • Facilitates shop layout to maximize the optimum workflow to meet production labour efficiency goals
  • Assists the Branch Manager in the preparation of annual budgets and makes recommendations for shop asset purchases
  • Plans, organizes and coordinates the flow and storage of material throughout warehouse and coordinates the replacement and ordering of inventory to meet production demands
  • Stages and prepare goods to be shipped; supervises retrieval, packaging, identification, handling and staging of all products to be shipped
  • Establish work schedules and co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments
  • Supervises and ensures proper maintenance and control of shop equipment, forklifts and shop tools
  • Coordinate and inform sales personnel of expected completion dates, delivery dates
  • Responsible for the schedule of jobs as to expected production flow, and coordinate scheduling as required
  • Coordinates with shipping department as to schedule of jobs and when they are required to go out
  • Resolves work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports to branch manager
  • Responsible for the daily administration of the safety program and ensures standards for safe working conditions are observed by all employees. May be responsible for conducting safety meetings and elevating safety awareness by acting as an ambassador and role model for safety in the workplace
  • Provides training or assigns a subject matter expert to provide training of all shop staff in their tasks and responsibilities
  • Provides team building, mentoring, leadership, direction & instruction to staff in a professional and respectful manner
  • Effectively deals with performance or behavioral issues in a professional and timely manner in consultation with the Branch Manager and Human Resources where applicable.
  • Provides coaching and performance evaluations in a timely manner in consultation with the Branch Manager
  • Evaluates complaints received on product and take appropriate action to rectify the situation
  • Ensures all customers (internal, external, on-site and off-site) are promptly, professionally and courteously attended to
  • Trains workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies or send to applicable person for training
  • Ensures the smooth operation of computer systems and shop equipment
  • Supports the branch in the achievement of goals and meeting and exceed deadlines to meet customer service levels
  • Performs sundry duties as assigned by the Branch Manager

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 3 years' experience
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
